The Orlando Magic really want the Sixers to make the playoffs. I'm guessing they put money down at the beginning of the season and want to cash in on their investment by making sure they have no chance at losing this game. With that, I bring you news from Orlando Pinstriped Post that Glen Davis will miss tonight's game with a hyperextended right knee, an injury he sustained against the Cleveland Cavaliers yesterday.
In addition to Davis, the Magic will be without Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu for the home game against the Sixers. That means we'll likely see Daniel Orton (DANIEL ORTON!) start his first NBA game at center. Lucky for him, he'll have the cakey Spencer Hawes on him for a good chunk of the night. Also expected to see plenty of minutes is Louisville disappointment Earl Clark, who scored a season high 13 points yesterday. Hot diggity.
There's a good chance the Magic won't even show up to tonight's game. Orlando will treat this night as if it's a Legends Game, running out a starting five of Penny Hardaway, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, Michael Doleac, and Keon Clark. I'd still put money on them to come away with the W.
A win would put the Sixers just 2.5 games out of the 6-seed, but even with the Magic feeling especially tankalicious these days, that's a lot of ground to make up in not too many games. If the Sixers lose this game, I shall laugh and laugh heartily. Hoping for another feather in the tankcap of the Sixers tonight.
