Well. that. was. unexpected.
The Sixers pretty much outplayed a rested and talented Memphis team on the road for an entire game, and they got out of FedEx Forum with a 99-89 win. Great defense and three-point shooting buoyed the Sixers.
Where to start? Let's go with Dorell Wright. 8-11 for TWENTY-EIGHT points. Unbelievable performance from Dorell, and great to see him start knocking down shots. Again, TWENTY-EIGHT POINTS ON ELEVEN SHOTS!
Next, let's go with Spencer Hawes. 9-14, 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 steals(?)! Hawesome, Hawe-Inspiring, the works. His best game since opening night against Denver.
Thad Young, 13, 2 boards, and 4 blocks while battling with Z-Bo all night.
Jrue Holiday, 13 and 9.
Swaggy P, the Memphis Strangler.
Evan Turner, who needs points?
Coming into this road trip the Sixers needed to surprise if they wanted to keep their heads at sea level. Well, they've done that once. More to come.
