Sixers Beat Nuggets Behind Spencer Hawes And Mullet Post-Game Thread

Yes, THAT Spencer Hawes!

Best Spencer.
Best Spencer.
Drew Hallowell

The Sixers didn't always look great and they didn't always play what some would call "basketball", but WHEN YOU HAVE A SPENCER HAWES ON SPENCER HAWES NIGHT THAT KIND OF THING JUST DOESN'T MATTER. Andre Iguodala got booed. That sucked. But the Sixers managed to keep the Nuggets at bay from the first quarter on and thanks to Mr. Mullet, they hung on for the win.

Hawes finished with 16 points (on 11 shots), 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, two silky three's, and FIVE BLOCKS. Dude was absolutely going HAM out there. I don't know how else to say it but the mullet and the Republicanism and the mediocracy was in full effect for Johnny America tonight. He got, by my count, two separate MVP chants and a SPEN-CER HAW-AWES chant. That's efficient basketball.

The Andre's, Iguodala and Miller, were kept in check and really the defense as a whole was extremely impressive. The defensive glass is an issue and the offense needs more Andrew Bynum (don't we all?), but Michael Curry's defense was completely stifling tonight. Big ups to everybody for a hugely impressive and hilarious team effort.

One win down.

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Stop the Mullet. Sixers 2012.
