Sixers power forward Craig Brackins has signed a contract with Maccabi Ashdod of the Israel-Premier League. The contract does include an out clause allowing him to return to the Sixers when if the season resumes.
Brackins appeared in only 3 games for Sixers last year, his first in the league after averaging 16.5 points and 8.6 rebounds at Iowa State. He appeared in 18 games for the Springfield Armor, averaging 20.1 points and 8.6 rebounds on 44% from the floor.
Brackins was acquired by the Sixers along with Darius Songaila for Willie Green and Jason Smith before the start of last season.
Update (Levin): Sources tell me Craig is brushing up on his Yiddish, working his forearms extensively to be proficient at Dreidle, and seeking out places to find a yarmulka big enough for his head. Future post moves include: The Maccabi Hook, the Rabbi's Fadeaway, and my personal favorite, the Circumcised Crossover.
