With the sale of the Sixers less than 2 days old, and still possibly months away from league approval, the first ramifications from the ownership change appear to be taking shape. According to Kate Fagan, Ed Stefanski has been given permission to interview for other positions, and is apparently among the frontrunners for the Toronto Raptors GM position.
With the inclusion of former Sacramento Kings Assistant GM Jason Levien in the ownership group, there has been uncertainty about Ed Stefanski's future with the club. While it's unknown how high up, if at all, Levien will be in the Sixers front office, at the very least there is another person with basketball operations experience somewhere in the organizational chart.
The more surprising piece of news is that Stefanski is among the finalists for the position in Toronto, although they have yet to conduct interviews with the candidates. Should Stefanski land the job, that will be two former Sixers head honchos running Atlantic Division squads when basketball resumes.
