With all the speculation leading up to the draft, the Sixers are still not close to finding a trade to deal Andre Iguodala before the draft. This according to Rod Thorn via Tom Moore, who is down in Philadelphia with Sixers management making their moves from afar.
This isn't condemning evidence that nothing will come up once things get going and players get scooped up earlier than they're supposed to. Sometimes a deal gets made out of nowhere after one phone call. Usually those are the ones that are the most irrational - so hopefully we're on the better side of things. Either way, there's a good chance that the Sixers stand pat with their picks at 16 and 50.
Things are just getting underway here at the Prudential Center and we'll have updates to you as they come our way. I'm sitting next to the representative from the "Republican American". I don't know what that is. If a political scuffle goes down during this draft, I'll be so upset. Stay tuned for that as a nice subplot.
Anyway, go draft.
