Knicks vs 76ers coverage
Only one week left until the playoffs roll up on the Sixers. Tonight, a battle for the 6th slot.
- The Sixers are coming off a tough game against the Celtics in which hobbling wingman Andre Iguodala played 33 minutes. The 6th seed seems to be something the organization along with Doug Collins is shooting for, so I'd expect Dre to log just as many minutes tonight on that hurt knee.
- This will be the Sixers' first look at Carmelo Anthony in a Knicks uniform (unless you count Marreese Speights having a life size cardboard cut out of him in his room). We're all aware that they haven't been meeting the lofty expectations set when the trade went down in February. They are, however, on a current 4-game winning streak with wins against Orlando, New Jersey, Cleveland, and Toronto. Not the most impressive winning streak of all-time, but a streak nonetheless.
- Can Evan Turner give us another solid game with the minutes that became free because of the injury to Louis Williams? Turner already had a great game against the Knicks this season and tends to excel against up-tempo, defensively lacking teams (see Knicks, Suns, Warriors). I'm predicting that he will.
- The 6th seed is up for grabs tonight seeing as the Sixers are now just a half game ahead of the Knicks. The prize for winning is getting the right to play to the Celtics or Heat depending on who finishes with the worse record (the loser getting the better of those). That's no exactly much to sacrifice more injury for in my opinion. I'm in the "give reasonable rest to the major players until playoff time " boat along with Mike and Jordan.
- Craig Brackins is back from the D-League tonight. I'm guessing that will mean nothing.
- Our very own Mikey and Posting and Toasting and PotRoasting's Seth Rosenthal are going to be on a New York radio station at around 6:15 talking about basketball type things and cabbage patches. I'm waiting to hear if a stream will be provided. Updates to come on that if you want a listen.
Hey baby! Go home baby! It's 3 o'clock in the morning!
GO SIXERS!
