Spurs vs 76ers coverage
Tonight is Red Night at the Wells Fargo Center as the Sixers take on the pieces of horse riding equipment worn on the boot by cowboys.
- The Spurs have the best record in the NBA at 44-8. This, I'm pretty sure, we all know. What we might not all know, however, is that the Sixers have faired pretty well against these guys at home over the past decade. 8 of the last 10 trips the Spurs have made to Philadelphia ended in a Sixer win.
- San Antonio is smack dab in the middle of their annual rodeo road trip. They've won the last 4, with the Lakers being the only noteworthy team out of the bunch. Although they haven't played against the best of teams, this will be their third game in just 4 nights. O wait, same goes for the Sixers. I guess both teams will show signs of fatigue?
- The last time these two met, I was dancing my face off at a wedding. Less importantly, the Sixers allowed the Spurs to score 35+ in two of the four quarters. In one of those quarters, the Sixers managed just 12 points. I'm no scientist (but I do play one on TV), but I think it might be tough to win that way. In that game, Tim Duncan shot just 2-9 and managed only 6 rebounds yet the Spurs still won by 23. This is a very, very good team (in case you didn't realize that by them having the best record).
- Before last game, Evan Turner's rib popped, causing him to suffer back spasms throughout the contest. He didn't practice yesterday, but is expected to suit up tonight. Here's to hoping he can play effectively without any sort of symptoms.
- Spurs Injury Update: Rookie Tiago Splitter is out tonight because of strained left hamstring.
- BOSS!
Today I was asked "What's the capitol of North Carolina?" I said Washington DC. She said "No. You're Wrong." I said "You got a lumpy butt."
GO SIXERS!
