From Sam Amick at AOL Fanhouse, here's what he had to say about our 2nd year guard from UCLA:
The intriguing part about his game is that he has the potential to become one of the league's best two-way point guards. His length is extremely bothersome on defense, and he has the necessary defensive mentality to flourish on that end.
Add in the development of his point guard skills offensively, and there is much promise here.
The fact that he's only 20 years old is a big asset for the Fanhouse crew, a fact that's hard to ignore. He was drafted 17th overall in the 2009 draft because he didn't play his natural position for Ben Howland. Now that he's had almost a full season (end of last year plus the first half of this year) at the point guard position, it's clear how much potential the kid has.
He fell in behind guys like Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose. Difficult comparisons because this was expected out of these guys. With the exception of Michael Beasley, I think Jrue deserves to be on top of everyone else on the list because of the gap between the middle of last year and this. He was playing behind Allen Iverson last year. Now Allen is overseas and Jrue is a franchise cornerstone.
Can't wait to see Evan Turner on the list next season.
