Despite Rumors, Sixers Not For Sale

Is it 2006 all over again?  The rumor that the Philadelphia 76ers are for sale reared its head for the first time since the summer of '06.  Once again, however, the front office is denying any truth to the reports.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Comcast-Spectacor Peter Luukko had this to say concerning the rumor:

"We're not selling the 76ers.  Nothing has materialized," Luukko said.  "We're going forward, excited about having the No. 2 pick in the draft, about having signed Doug Collins to be our coach."

Some rumors, unfortunately, are too good to be true, this being one of them.  The smoke monster aka Ed Snider (what the hell am I talking about?) will still be at the helm of the organization.  Once again we can expect him to proclaim that it's too important to keep the team in his possession.  I'm not going to lose all help just yet that the Sixers may one day in my lifetime have an owner that will do anything and everything to build a championship contender.

Maybe when I tear it up at the Shelter and go on to become one of the most successful rap artists of all-time (I assure you, there is not a movie similar to this) I can buy the team and they can be owned by Liberty Ballers. Jordan is in charge of choosing the ladies for the dance team, Mike is in charge of making up the nicknames for the back of the jerseys XFL style, Derek is in charge of everything that matters, and I'm in charge of looking sexy in the owner's box.
