A person familiar with the decision tells The Associated Press that Philadelphia 76ers coach Eddie Jordan will be fired Thursday after one season on the job.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because an announcement has not been made.
Sixers fans have been waiting for this announcement for the past 4 months, give or take. It became all but official in March, when multiple sources claimed he would be gone by season's end.
We've bashed EJ all season long, so no need to pile it on now. I'm extremely thrilled he's gone, I'm a little nervous about another coaching search under the same regime who hired him, and I'm thankful for the top 7 pick Eddie Jordan helped the Sixers acquire. Without him we'd be mediocre for the umpteenth time, picking in the 12-17 range, and starring another first round exit/unreasonably high expectations in the face.
