Sixers Lose to Lakers; Gain Ground in Lottery Standings

Lottery Team Record GB
10 Clippers 24-34 5
9 Sixers 22-36 3
8 Pistons 21-37 2
7 Wizards 20-36 2
6 Knicks 20-37 1.5
5 Pacers 19-39 --
4 Kings 19-39 --

  • Jrue Holiday had some nice moments, specifically on defense. He also got elbowed in the lip, requiring 5 stitches.
  • Lou had another good game scoring 16 on 7-14, 7 dimes, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and only 1 turnover. He bounced back nicely considering he started 1-5. He also had some nice passes, and his jumper has been consistently good. But there were still a couple defensive lapses.
  • Iguodala had a decent game. His defense was mediocre for his standards, and he took (and missed) way too many jumpers -- again. But he played a great point guard -- yes point guard (10 assists) -- and grabbed 9 rebounds.
  • Calling Elton Brand's performance garbage would be insulting ... to garbage.
  • Thad Young provided energy off the bench and crashed the offensive glass.
  • Speights had an okay game, better than recently. He had a lot of trouble against Pau.
  • Overall it was a good effort by the Sixers, reminded me a little of last year's game, minus Donny-Ice drilling clutch threes. However; it's nothing to write home about. The Lakers were in cruise control and the Sixers gave it their all, yet the Lakers still won. But if the Sixers give this effort against other "good" teams (like Orlando on Monday) they might be able to steal a win or two.
  • Blah.
  • Sigh.
  • Lottery?
  • Box Score
  • Silver Screen and Roll
