Game 58: Magic @ Sixers Preview

Big, big game tonight. It remains to be seen if the Sixers have re-gained any of that pre-all star break magic, no pun intended, that led them to a 14-4 record. They came out of the break 0-4, losing in painful fashion, but have now won two in a row and look to make a statement against the 42-16, yes 42 win, Orlando Magic team.

To go along with the big game, come two big problems.

1. Superman --  a very BIG problem.

2. The Magic average more than 10 threes a game on nearly 40%!

First of all, who's going to stop Dwight Howard? It sure won't be Sam Dalembert. Expect to see a lot of Theophilus Ratliff tonight.

Secondly, the Sixers are going to have to find a way to slow down the Magic's three-point barrage if they are going to have any chance of winning. An amazing three-point shooting team, and a horrible perimeter defense don't mix well. We could very well see the Magic rain in 20 threes tonight.

Win tonight's game and I'm back on the "The Sixers are actually good!" bandwagon. Lose and I'm convinced that we're just a mediocre Eastern Conference team. I have slightly higher expectations because the game's in Philadelphia. If it was in Orlando, I'd have zero faith.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Game's at 7 eastern, on NBATV.

Also, word of advice, staying out all night messes with your head man. I'm still recuperating. There's been a continuous loop of this song in my head for the past 48 hours.

See you in a couple hours.
