The fact that they beat Toronto in the impossible early-afternoon Sunday game the Raptors always seem to win just underscores why this team is so frustrating. They have talent, but they have no cohesion and terrible coaching. It should come as no surprise that Eddie Jordan is on the chopping block.

However, I think it's worth noting that Jrue Holiday is finally getting a chance to show his stuff. For three months, he was in Jordan's doghouse. But with the team continuing to flounder, Holiday's gotten extended playing time and has continued to progress. So I like to do this to pat ourselves on the back and inflate Jordan's ego a bit, but February 2010 was the best month in the history of the site by about 10,000 visits, dethroning December '09 high of 24,375. Big ups to Jordan who does a buttload more than I do for this site, as well as Tanner and John who come by a lot more than they probably should.

A moment to recognize some key guys: Saul, soman, packimop, DeanH, tk76, RickoT, and a bunch of people that come by from time to time. Also all the people that creep on this site without a user name and just read our [expletive] writing, make an ID and start talking. John says quality over quantity, but I get paid 50 bucks each time someone joins our site so do it. Good stuff guys.

I don't actually get paid any money. That was a fib.

Meanwhile, their young talent hasn't made significant strides this season. So the team we rated No. 19 and No. 21 in the first two editions of the Future Power Rankings seems adrift and now comes in at No. 22.

The 76ers are losing money, have a talented roster that's not producing, employ a coach whose style doesn't fit the personnel and will be paying Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert a combined $41 million next year... and yet their only move at the trade deadline was to acquire Jodie Meeks for a second-round pick. Even though they have a better record than the Wizards, I'm putting them down here for not understanding that they needed to whip out the dynamite on this team. Shame on you, Ed Stefanski.

Why is Oklahoma so dysfunctional? The conversation should start and end with Willie Warren. Some had Warren as a possible lottery pick had he come out last year, and Fran Fraschilla and I bought his new-and-improved act, despite his reputation as a malcontent.

Fast forward to Year 2 under head coach Jeff Capel, who convinced Warren and his mother that if Warren returned, he would be treated like Blake Griffin and become a potential No. 1 draft pick. This seems to be the point at which things went downhill.

The Sooners have lacked top-level play and leadership as well as suffering from a variety of injuries, most recently Warren coming down with mononucleosis, sidelining him indefinitely. Warren's season is lost, and he would almost certainly need to return to Norman to repair his draft status.

Philly liked Meeks heading into the draft, so it didn't shock me to see the 76ers pursue him now. The deal is cap neutral and gives the Sixers a shooter, something they desperately need. While Meeks has made only 28.2 percent of his 3-pointers with Milwaukee, his college shooting numbers were so good that one can easily dismiss the 82-shot sample he's provided in the NBA.

Elson has some value as a defensive center, but Philly already is knee-deep in big men, so he probably won't play and might be a buyout candidate. Grade: B-"

According to a source with first-hand knowledge of the situation, the Houston Rockets were willing to trade McGrady and rookie guard-forward Chase Budinger for Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert. In fact, the Rockets wanted to do this deal. The money works and the Rockets were willing to take on Iguodala's $56 million remaining contract and Dalembert's $12 million next year.

The 76ers are in talks with the Suns regarding forward Amare Stoudemire, but general manager Ed Stefanski reportedly doesn't want the All-Star alongside Elton Brand.

Philadelphia's reported offer for the Phoenix star involves Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert.

"Stefanski doesn't want Stoudemire and [Elton] Brand together," one source said.

Philadelphia hasn't been pro-active about trying to get a three-team deal going.

"A three-way would take effort on their part," one league official said, "and they haven't shown much of that yet."

The Suns have sweetened their offer to the 76ers by including Leandro Barbosa in a package with Stoudemire. Also possible is a three-way trade that would send Hickson and Barbosa (along with Ilgauskas) to Philly, Stoudemire to Cleveland and Iguodala and Dalembert to Phoenix.

"The Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are closing in on a deal that would send All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire to Cleveland, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations.
