This seems incredibly misguided to me. Basically, his argument is that, because the Sixers have made bad top ten draft selections in the past, there's no reason to tank in an effort for a higher draft pick. He even says that there is no obvious candidate for the #1 selection (since pundits have declared it so) and therefore even lesser motivation to obtain the highest pick. However, if I recall correctly, as recently as two years ago, there was no standout in the class, but the Cavaliers took Kyrie Irving anyway and that has worked out pretty well for them.
In good times and bad, I want to engage with Sixers fans. I'll be on Mike Missanelli's show on 97.5 The Fanatic Monday at 4pm @MikeMiss975
Dorell Wright and Evan Turner discuss the 76ers 104-97 win over the Golden State Warriors, which snapped a 7 game losing streak. Turner finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, and Wright contributed 13 points and 3 three pointers off the bench.
"No Nugget is averaging 17 or more points per game. Andre Iguodala, their most accomplished player as an All-Star (with the 76ers) and Olympic gold medalist last year, is averaging 13.4 points amid criticism locally that he isn't worth his $15 million salary."

To see why Jrue Hoiday needs to start the All Star game over Kyrie Irving, simply look at the numbers. Completely lopsided.
