Ten Reasons Why I'm Celebrating Already!

If you think these ten things are true, then you think the Sixers could be the NBA's version of Michigan's Fab Five.

1. Joel Embiid, not Ben Simmons, is our captain, leading scorer, and alpha-dog.

2. Ben Simmons is a guard, and his backcourt mate is Sergio Rodriguez.

3. Ben Simmons will be an average shooter, meaning ~ 30% 3pt.

4. Jahlil Okafor will be a power forward, who will shoot threes in less time than you think, whose defense will be no worse than Saric at the four, both of whom will be "protected" by Joel, Noel, Richaun and Jerami.

5. Nerlens Noel can guard anyone on the floor, which means he is position-less. He is not a "natural" center, as he is also offensively challenged there as well. Moreover his blocks are not more important than his steals and position defense. He is a defensive savant, evinced by the fact that he would be a better small forward than Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

6. Nerlens Noel will grow into his body and be a more capable offensive player than Hassan Whiteside when he's 25 like Hassan. He already shoots with either hand, and passes well. In two years, he will be a better offensive player than Michael Kidd Gilchrist.

7. Robert Covington can play the two guard against HALF of the league WHEN there are at least two ballhandlers on the floor, Simmons, Saric and/or Sergio.

8. Dario Saric will quarterback the second unit from the post, where he'll either kick it to Jerryd Baylesss or Gerald Henderson to shoot, or lob it to Nerlens or Jerami when they're man comes to help.

9. The Sixers finally have fifteen NBA players, evidenced by a third team to actually be proud of. TJMaxx, TLC, Hollis, Carl Landry and Richaun Holmes fit together, and will be a nice garbage unit.

10. Brett Brown will get us playing at a breakneck pace!!! Our comparative advantage is size and youth. With three active units, we will run teams into the ground. We will beast them on the boards. Foul their bigs out with the quickness. Take their guards out back and beat them about the head and face.

The 2017 Draft (PHI/SAC17, LA17) and Free Agency ($45-50M+) will create a log jam at wing and guard. The 2017 Draft is one of the most loaded in recent memory. While I'd put none of them on a tier with Joel Embiid, Karl Anthony Towns or Ben Simmons, there are at least ten dudes who would be on the same tier as Brandon Ingram and Kris Dunn. Best of all, none of them is the impact center the Boston Celtics so desperately crave.

While DeAaron Fox is my favorite right now, I couldn't care less whether we got Markelle Fultz, Dennis Smith Jr, Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Lonzo Ball, Terrance Ferguson or the German kid. I'm all about BPA, so take Harry Giles or Edrice Adebayo if they're there for us.

As for free agency, I think its a no brainer we offer a max contract to Victor Oladipo and hope OKC doesn't match.77

That's fifteen men:

Victor Oladipo, Ben Simmons, Robert Covington, Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid

Dennis Smith - PHI17, Markelle Fultz - LA17, Jerami Grant, Dario Saric, Nerlens Noel

TJMcConnell, Timothe Luwawu-C, Hollis Thompson, Furkan Korkmaz, Richaun Holmes

If we can't sign Oladipo, then we consider trading a big, and even then it could just as well be Jerami or Richaun.

Thank you, Sam!
