How are we supposed to trust Bryan Colangelo?

The closer we get to the draft, the more nervous I get. I was never a big Sam Hinkie fan and I am not sure I trusted him either, but something really rubs me the wrong way with Bryan Colangelo.

The Big Men Trade Rumors

First, obviously we need to trade one of our big men so we don't have a ton of leverage, naturally, when it comes to negotiating with other teams because everyone knows we need to trade a big. But Colangelo is so enamored with draft picks and I'm not sure trading Okafor or Noel for draft picks is a good idea. I'm not that high on either when it comes to being future all stars but at least you know Noel is a proven NBA player who can defend and score via offensive boards and lobs. Even Okafor, at least you know he can get 17 and 7 on a nightly basis. I think it would be better to try and package Okafor for a guy like Eric Bledsoe, or if we could throw enough in, say a CJ McCollum (Who I desperately wanted the Sixers to take until he went the pick before us). You know those guys can play, I don't think Portland wants to part ways with CJ but who knows, maybe Phoenix would with Bledsoe. There are plenty of other young guys out there so I'm not asking for debate about whether Eric Bledsoe is good or not but rather should we trade Okafor for an unproven draft pick or a proven NBA player?

Dealing with the media

Colangelo seems to be talking to the media a lot and he seems like the kind of guy that makes up his plan beforehand and then is too stubborn to make any adjustments. For instance, he wants to trade for a proven point guard. I bet you he does but for a bad value. He wants another top 8 pick in this year's draft. I bet you he does but not for great value. He thinks he knows exactly what he is doing but I don't think he does.

Overall, he makes me very nervous running this franchise. I understood why many Sixers fans were so enamored with Hinkie, even if I disagreed with it, but if Colangelo "succeeds" as a GM it will only be because the Sixers lucked into getting the 3rd pick in the 2014 draft and that Embiid is healthy. If Hinkie is drafting 1 or 2 he takes Wiggins and Parker and with all due respect to those guys, neither are going to be alpha dogs. A healthy Embiid will get Hinkie credit for drafting him and make Colangelo look like a good GM for assembling a team around him, but overall I'm very nervous for tonight.
