My Dario Nightmare

I get it, Dario said he will come play for our Sixers next year (2016-17) and most people tend to believe him. I don't, here is why:

1) "New salary cap projections sent out to NBA teams: 2015-16: 67.1 million, tax 81.6, 2016-17: 89 million, tax 108. 2017-18: 108, 127 tax" -Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress)

Why would Dario come over in 16-17 or even 17-18 when he could probably demand significantly more money in 18-19? Considering he signed a four year contract anyway it seems to me that Dario (or his father or his agent) would simply just wait until 2018-2019 to maximize the amount of money on his first deal with the Sixers.

2) The Sixers will most likely have at least 3 other 1st round picks joining the team in 2016-17, most likely one of those picks will play the 3 or 4 like Dario, meaning that he would have more competition on the roster and less playing time to offer Sir Dario.

3) This guy I just learned about: Fran Vazquez, selected No. 11 overall to the Orlando Magic in 2005. This was his quote when drafted...

"I clearly understand what people think. Executives from Orlando came to Spain to talk with me and express their total support for my decision. They asked me if I wanted to play in the NBA and I said, 'Yes, indeed.' But I didn't know exactly when. I've decided to stay here in Spain in order to improve my game and go to the NBA being a better player." He is now 32 and has never played a game for Orlando. Notice how similar his comments are to are boy Dario.

I cant find the exact quote but this is essentially what Dario said during his initial press conference with the Sixers, and I think it may work out the same way. This leads me to my next and most important point...

4) Why did he sign this contract in Turkey for 4 years in the first place? It seems as though he is almost scared to come over in the NBA. I know he is young, but not very young. The top picks in this years draft are younger than Dario and will come and play right away. It's also not like the situation in Chicago with Mirotic where he was coming to a good team so staying in Europe ensured he wouldn't ride the bench. Dario could have come over and been a starter from day 1. Also, we have sent our HC,GM, and our best players to go try to convince this guy to come over and yet, nothing.

In closing, I'm sorry my fellow Sixers fanatics but I don't think well see the amazing Dario any time soon, if ever. Someone please comment and tell me I'm wrong, I need Dario in my Sixers life.
