Dwayne Wade heading to Cleveland

If the Miami Heat lose Wade to Cleveland as is being reported, the 76ers stand to make some measurable gains that could play out extremely well for the future. The 76ers own the rights to Miami's 1st rounder which is protected for picks 1-10 next year and unprotected the year after that. I'm not sure it's going to be easy getting Dragic to re-sign without Wade, and I'm not so sure anyone will want to go play with Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers. The Heat could be one of the worst teams in the NBA next year meaning the pick won't convey until 2017 when it is unprotected. Do you see what I'm getting at here? While we are improving and creating our team with Noel, Embiid, Saric, Grant, Thompson, Aldemir, McRae, Pierre Jackson, Wroten, Covington, our 2015 #3 pick,, our five 2015 2nd rounders, 2016 Thunder pick, 2016 Lakers pick, our own 2016 1st and Denvers 2nd round picks, plus a bevy of free agent talent, the Heat pick will be gaining value and becoming unprotected. Basically we could be An up and coming team in the East and still getting a top 5 pick in the draft in 2017 from Miami.

The other part of this I like is Dragic leaving Miami. Dragic is a Sam Hinkie and Brett Brown type of player, he just fits the mold of what they want from the PG perfectly. The 76ers could land Dragic this offseason and at the same time be furthering their chances of getting an incredibly valuable asset from the Heat in The form of an unprotected 2017 1st round draft pick.
