Jahlil's MPG impacting offensive schemes

With the first exhibition game coming shortly, we as fans will begin to see how Coach Brown decides to structure his offense with and without Jahlil Okafor on the court. A lot has been made about potential "fit" issues playing alongside Nerlens Noel. While I do believe they will start the game together, I am speculating their time together with be less than their time apart. I think either Okafor or Noel will be at the C position all game.

If you look for Okafor to go 24 - 28 mpg (26) and Noel to go 32 - 36 mpg (34); with 22 mpg of those at his natural position of C, then Noel would only be playing 12 mpg at PF with Okafor.

Pace of Play can be a weapon, the Sixers have the making of a roster to have two offensive schemes of 7 players that would thrive best in that tempo. Considering we were dead last in offense, this could be a way to move out of the cellar.

Set Offense: 26 mpg

Okafor, Noel (12) / Holmes (10), Covington, Stauskas, Marshall

Bench: Thompson, Canaan

Strengths: emerging star low post player, volume 3-point firepower

Weaknesses : defense, poor shooting FT center

Fast Break Offense: 22 mpg

Noel, Aldemir, Grant, Sampson, Wroten

Bench: Woods, Jackson

Strengths: Furkan's Outlets, 4 gazelles, plus defense (relatively)

Weaknesses: outside shooting

Bench allows for foul trouble and injuries. Coach can see which offense is working better that night and adjust accordingly. Think most of the roster will be seeing PT this season.

Good way to get the most out of an entire team with 5 minutes spurts. Envision something like :

Start: Okafor, Noel, Covington, Stauskas, Marshall

7:00 Sub: Aldemir, Grant, Sampson, Wroten leaving Noel on floor

2:00 Sub: Okafor, Holmes, Covington, Stauskas, Marshall
