The Future of Jerami Grant ?

With the recent articles on Nerlens playing at the 4 and Ronald Roberts signing a deal with Team Hinkie, the question is begging to be asked about the future of one Jerami Grant with our squad. The number one concern with the Wolves is how are they going to fill the void at PF now that K Love is heading to join LB James in Cleveland. The most frequent answer is by acquiring our beloved Thad Young in a swap for a package to include expiring contracts and either Bennett or the Miami 1st round pick coming from the Cavs.

Many at CanisHoopus are hoping for Flip to acquire Thad and keep Bennett. But what if Hinkie is insistent on getting Bennett in the swap. Since one of the expiring contracts is Luc Mbah a Moute, there is really no one even to back up Thad in a potential trade on the Wolves current roster if Bennett comes our way.

What if Flip Saunders is asking for Jerami Grant along with Thad to provide some long term gain in a trade ? With the unknown of Thad's contract for next year up in the air, if he walks at least the Wolves would have an investment in Grant moving forward. It would give Jerami a year to back up Thad and gain weight, then potentially moving into the starting line up for 15 -16 season.

The alternatives of including Moultrie or Davies as a suitable back up is probably not sending shock waves out west. Perhaps Grant is the key to getting a maximum return for Thad Young. Remember that Jerami got selected at 39 exactly one pick ahead of Minn picking GR3 at 40. Perhaps we get him back as well as compensation.

Is the possible return for Thad and Jerami being the sum of :

Bennett, Mbad a Moute, Barea, Shved, GR3, Miami 1st 2015 and Minn 2nd 2016 ?

Minn has Denver 2nd 2015 but traded their own 2nd to Houston. The earliest we could get a 1st from Minn is 2017 as they traded their 1st 2015 to the Suns. Maybe some of these added to satisfy Hinkie as a valued return
