Liberty Ballers Meet-Up at Sixers Games

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Ed. Note: We've put this on the front page because it's going to help us gauge a couple of things. We've been going back-and-forth about the ability for members to engage in a ticket share. If you are interested in the ticket share, please let us know. You can email me if you want to know more about this (my info is on the author page), and I'll forward the message along. Thanks! - Sean

Hey! Let's watch some bad basketball together!

Simply because I think it would be fun to watch some Sixers games in person with other Liberty Ballers, I'm hoping to organize some type of at game meet-up with LB community members. The powers that be at Liberty Ballers are supportive of this idea, especially if there is adequate interest.

The purpose of this post is to gauge interest in such a thing and discuss a few options.

First, let's lay out the general idea. A few weeks before a game we would announce a meet-up at the game. We would find a suitable section that has plenty of empty seats (shouldn't be hard) and then tell everyone to try to get seats in that area. We'd establish some sort of meeting time/place. Maybe we'd just tell everyone to wear a Hinkie shirt or carry a rose. If folks wanted, we could set a location for pre or post game drinks as well.

There is also another related option that could be fun, but would take a little more organizing and pre-planning. We could arrange a season ticket share. This is the idea: we would ask people to buy shares into a season ticket and we would buy as many tickets as we could based on the number of folks who bought in. Then, we’d have some sort of event, either online or at a bar, where we would have a lottery and draft for the selection of games.

Now comes your feedback. Please answer the question in the poll below. The SB post editor app only allows one poll per fanpost, so we'll need a follow up post to get an idea of which games work best (weekend/weekday) and what level of seats people want.

And of course, feel free to put your thoughts in the comments.
