2014-2015 Hype

Believe it or not, we have it good being 76ers fans. I cannot wait to watch this team play. I made this video myself. Please enjoy it, read my thoughts on the players, and leave some comments.

In this video:

Jason Richardson:

he's an old man. Maybe he has some game left in him? The guy can still shoot a decent 3 ball and jump better than most guys in the league. He's a savvy vet who will at the very least help guys like Jordan McRae and Hollis Thompson develop.

Henry Sims:

24 years old with a 7'4 wingspan. This guy is going to get major minutes and that is something to get excited about. Not because he is a stud, but because he will be developing at an accelerated rate and be emerging as a formidable backup for Nerlens and Embiid down the road.

Hollis Thompson:

A 23 year old SG/SF who stands at 6'8 and has a 6'10 wingspan. Not the greatest athlete but a deadly shooter who has shown commitment to the game by adding some bulk this offseason. Thompson will also be getting some solid minutes this year. Be excited about that. When we are contenders we are going to have a big behemoth of a shooter who can make plays coming off the bench.

Tony Wroten:

A 21 year old, yes 21 year old, who is 6'6 and has a 6'9 inch wingspan who plays point guard. Wroten is still raw, but he is a baby still. Let the man continue to get some solid minutes and watch him grow. Once again, be happy this guy is getting minutes. He is going to develop into a heck of a backup PG. The potential is through the roof...still!

Vasilije Micic:

Wait a minute...we have another 6'6 PG? Yep. Vasilije Micic, a man that we drafted in the second round this year. At 20 years old Micic is already one of the best PG's in the Adriatic League. Besides that, he has looked like a stud at Euro Camp and playing international ball. In the FIBA U-19 games, Micic scored 13 points and had 10 assists in 31 minutes of play against the United States team. Those numbers were put up against the United States, basketball powerhouse, who had numerous to throw at Micic. He handled them (Elfrid Payton and Marcus Smart) quite well. Micic was named to the FIBA All-Tournament Team with Jahlil Okafor, Dante Exum, Aaron Gordon, and our very own...Dario Saric. Yes, we own two of the five members of the U-19 All-Tournament Team...be excited.

Dario Saric:

We made a trade with Orlando so that they would select Saric with the twelfth pick. We made this happen KNOWING that Saric wouldn't come here for two years. 12th pick. Not playing for two years. That should help explain to you just how good Dario Saric is. If he played college basketball, I would proclaim that he would've been a top 6 selection in the draft. Luckily for us, he didn't. Saric will be getting major minutes overseas and will continue to develop his game. I say continue with great emphasis; I do this because he has shown a commitment to the game by doing a fantastic job thus far developing a reliable jumper. Saric is already a great passer with size and an IQ that only the greats possess. You mean to tell me that the 76ers have a phenomenal player that will get major minutes and won't stop us from getting a very early pick next year so that we can continue to build a potential dynasty? Yes, that's what I'm telling you.

Michael Carter-Williams:

A picture is worth a thousand words... Rookie of the Year

Nerlens Noel:

Is Noel that guy who was supposed to be the number 1 overall pick last year? Yes. Didn't he get hurt which allowed him to drop to six? Didn't Philly trade for him? Yes and yes. And they eventually got this guy (who his now healthy and looks like a beast who will continue to put on size and develop a better offensive repertoire), Dario Saric, and a 1st round pick for Jrue Holiday? Hell yes they did. We all know Noel. Next year I will be using a picture similar to the one you see above to describe our friend Nerlens. Enjoy the ride.

Joel Embiid:

Wasn't this guy supposed to go #1 also? But he fell to the Sixers. That's a shame that they won't have him to help lead them to a mediocre season. Wait a minute...they don't want to win now. They want to win over the long term. What a fantastic selection! A man who has been compared to Olajuwon fell to the Sixers at 3 and he won't play this season, ultimately allowing them to have a fantastic opportunity to draft somoene along the lines of Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Stanley Johnson...Wow.

KJ McDaniels:

First team All-ACC. ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Hard-nosed defender who can shoot a decent 3 ball. Raw ball handler who can finish above the rim. This is KJ McDaniels. Many people have labeled him the Kawhi Leonard of this year's draft class. McDaniels won't be a star, but he will have no problem shutting down one. McDaniels is a raw player who could develop into a good starter for a winning team. If not, he's a second round defensive specialist who can hit an open three. That's McDaniels floor and that's something that we need on this team in the future. Let him get good minutes, he's a hard-worker and will develop.

Jerami Grant:

The guy has great genes, great leaping ability, and a great motor. He also has a disgusting jumpshot and a very raw overall game. I don't care where this guy gets minutes, just let him develop. A guy like Grant who can run and jump with the best of them and has a 7'2 wingspan has a lot of defensive potential. Grant could be another key bench player for the 76ers of the future.

Jordan McRae:

I'm more than happy we grabbed this guy from the Spurs at 58. McRae was named to the All-Vegas Second Team...woop dee doo. That's not why I'm excited. I'm excited because we got a phenomenal college player. Not only that, we got a SG with a 7'1 wingspan who can shoot, has great vision, and is a very willing defender. He isn't the quickest or strongest guy in the world. But his phenomenal effort and future added bulk will allow him to become a good NBA player. He will be in this league for a long time. McRae could be a starter in this league and I mean that.

Furkan Aldemir:

Aldemir is a guy not a lot of us are familiar with. He's a young big man who can defend. He could be our Bird-Man when we become contenders. For now, he is overseas developing his game and will head on over when we need him.
