Not many people talk about Pierre Jackson's unfortunate injury last week in summer league play. Most of all, not many people really care at this point. It is understandable given all the young talent on the Sixers who are making a name for themselves. Still, I can't help but wonder 'what if' when it comes to my thoughts on just how much of a difference maker he could have been for our team.
You could just see the difference this guy made when he stepped onto the summer league court for the first time and last time this past week. In seven minutes he scored 7 points. He showed speed, a deadly cross-over dribble that left the opposing player holding his jock and a three ball that was nothing but net. He just stood out. When you have watched enough basketball you just know when someone comes along that is just a real player. It was like that. Just when me and the fellas were staring at each other in disbelief, it all just came to an end. There he was, laying in pain on the floor. Later the news came in like a sledge hammer! Ruptured Achilles! Like a pretty girl who just whizzed by in a convertible, he was gone. Hollow, thats the only word that can describe it.
We all are wondering just how we can reach out to him and wish him the best. Can anyone at L.B. provide us with an email or twitter account so that we can show our support? Thanks y'all.
