In free agency, the Sixers should go after 6'5 shooting guard Kent Bazemore, Los Angeles Lakers, 2011 college defensive player of the year, bangs the bean, runs the break, booms on heads, and can beat his man off the driznib! He fits Hinkie's player-profile to a T. And he won't be expensive at all. He's a bit of a gunner, but that's what we need to go with Noels, McDaniels and MCW. If you FanDuel or watched the Lakers on League Pass, you know this kid puts in work. Also, check the YouTube videos of him, Kevin Durant and David Lee at the Rucker last year! Considering our style of ball, I honestly don't think there's a better free agent out there for us outside of LBJ or Carmelo.
I'm betting the media links us to Lance Stephenson and Greg Monroe, but I don't think they fit. More like, Kent Bazemore, Ryan Kelly, Josh McRoberts. If we do spend loot, I'd prefer Hinkie go for Eric Bledsoe. He already showed last year he can play beside a point guard with Phoenix and Goran Dragic. Put up 17/5/5/1.5. And the Sixers are looking to play a similar style of ball, just with better defense.
According to Rotoworld, "The Lakers did not make Kent Bazemore a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Lakers are just clearing up some cap space here, but they won't be able to match offers on him. Bazemore tore a tendon in his foot to end his season, but he should be healthy. The Lakers may try to bring him back on a multi-year deal, but they'll probably wait until the smoke clears on the high-profile players."
