There is a great deal of interest in an organization that Hinkie constructed with the primary purpose of losing in 2013-14. The overmatched players did a very good job of carrying out Hinkie’s plan, as evidenced by the Sixers’ 19-63 record and record-tying 26-game skid.
Now, the Sixers have the Nos. 3 and 10 picks in the June 26 NBA Draft, as well as five second-round selections. In the past 40 drafts, they’ve only had a pair of top-10 choices once — in 1984, when they took Hall of Famer Charles Barkley (No. 5) and the disappointing Leon Wood (10).
