I mean, he has no experience at all. He might be totally incompetent for what we know. Or in your opinion they are moving so that the real puppeter will be the Zen Master? To be honest, I don't see how a so unexperienced coach could be the right person for a rebuilding team (considering that probably Melo will also opt out). If I remember well, they have no draft picks for a couple of years too.
IMO the sole chance they have at this stage is to keep Melo and try to sign free agents (one or more of the Miami big 3s?) to become competitive immediately. But have they enough cap space to do that? In this case, I think the Fisher's choice is more acceptable: doesn't fit for a building project, but probably he could be a good boss of a big players' team.
