This is my first fan post, and I'm sure it won't be perfect. This is just a fantasy I envision for the Sixers in 2 years.
First, the draft gods will have to do us a favor. As long as we get a top 3 pick, the plan should be good. Hopefully, a team will take Embiid with one of the first 2 (He can not end up in Philly), which leaves us with either Wiggins or Parker. Let's go with Wiggins for the sake of argument. With the 10th pick, you draft Gary Harris or Nik Stauskas, preferably Garry. Either way, get a Shooting guard (I'll explain why, just go with it). Finally, trade Thad Young and some 2nd rounders to the Bulls for one of their 1st round picks (The trade would be very complex, but I won't get into that now). Snag Cleanthony Early, he'll be a future 6th man. Now, enjoy this season. Watch the team do some fun things. They won't win a lot of games, but it'll be exciting. Don't splurge on a free agent, we aren't ready.
Now, this leads us to the 2015-16 offseason. There's no telling who will be available in the draft. But, here's the wild card Hinkie move... Trade MCW. Why you ask? Get some major assets for him, he'll be inflating his stats yet again. Oh yea, and there's a ton of cap space to work with. This is where it gets fun. Offer MAJOR contracts to Kyrie Irving AND Kevin Love. Crazy? Yes. Likely? No. Possible? I don't see why not. Now, imagine this starting line-up in 2 years.
PG- Kyrie
SG- Gary
SF- Wiggins
PF- K-love
C- Noel
Not to mention a bench including assets from the MCW trade and the Thad Young trade.
I'm not saying I expect this. But what are your guys thoughts on this scenario?
(Apologies if this isn't well written, I'm no journalist, just a die-hard fan)
