Day dreaming about potential draft scenarios and like a spoiled kid at Toys "R" Us I can't settle on what I want. My dream scenario at the moment would probably have to be:
Pick #2: Andrew Wiggins - how could you not? I don't mind a Tracy McGrady/Paul Geoge hybrid one bit
Pick #10 (via NO): Gary Harris - lethal 2 way SG. Best defending SG in this draft class for sure and his shooting stroke is on point with Stauskas and Hairston
2nd Round Targets: CJ Wilcox (SG), KJ McDaniels (SF), Dwight Powell (PF), Isaiah Austin (C), Thanasis Antetokounmpo (SG/SF),
2014-15 Starting 5: MCW PG; Gary Harris SG; Andrew Wiggins SF; Thaddeus Young PF; Nerlens Noel C
Really like the look of this roster with long athletic players all over the court. Starting 5 is going to be a defensive nightmare with everyone capable of defending 2 or even 3 positions and length to force steals and block shots...god only knows what kind of block parties Nerlens Noel will be holding next year. Offensively still a bit raw but the transition plays will be making highlight reels all season. Gary Harris can be an excellent knock down shooter, MCW will absolutely thrive next year with capable shooters around him and above the rim freaks who will throw down all sorts of lobs in Wiggins and Noel.
What do you guys think? Obviously this whole scenario is pretty much predicated on us getting Wiggins (or Parker..sigh). I think if the lottery decides to bounce us into the 4th or 5th pick than we settle for Exum or Gordon, trade Thad and a second for another first, and just stockpile away as many high upside players as possible while setting our sights on next year's lottery.
