My minds is buzzing around what Hinkie might be scheming on draft day this year. Just wanted to throw out a potential trade and see if you thought the Sixers would do it, and if the other team would do it.
Sixers Trade:Pelicans Draft Pick(11th as of now) and Thad Young
I'm pretty sure the money is pretty close with contracts, roughly 9 million for the next two years. So that works.
Would you do it? Here's the way I'm looking at it. We're not going to be contending for any type of championship next year or even the year after. Four years from now, I very much hope so. So, why keep vets that can help us win around?
Hopefully we're a top five lottery again next year and we can stock up on some more assets. Thad is only going to make us better. Gerald Wallace is only going to make us worse. Much worse.
Plus, a top five pick in this draft could be a potential all star. Think about being able to pair Parker and Exum with MCW and Noel. Wow, that sounds exciting.
I honestly don't know if Boston would do it because they seem to be in the same sinking tank as we are. But, dreaming about draft day trades. If only I were a fly on Hinkies wall.
