Got together with a few friends to watch the Sixers Knicks game tonight, with my group of friends. We're a pretty diverse group in terms of basketball knowledge. Me and my 1 friend, play and watch tons of bball. 1 friend asked us what MCW will be, is he a building block for a future big 3 type of scenario, and what his ceiling is. My 1 friend who is by all means, a casual fan/homer, talked about MCW as if he's a budding superstar. Not that I disagree, I just thought he was a bit over zealous to say the least. But it turned into an interesting conversation.
So I figured I'd extend the conversation to this forum to see how you guys feel. I personally think MCW is going to be a perennial allstar. His ability to fill up a stat sheet and make plays is kinda rare, and I think his ceiling is higher than most think. He's a 2 way player, he has that ability to slash and finish plays. He's practically automatic on the break. His fg% is pretty low, but I think that he'll work his way around it. Maybe a big with shooting range who he can pick and roll with (like Noah Vonleh or ;gasp Kevin Love???) would help him take shots more beneficial to his game. Maybe a half court scorer like Andrew Wiggins, or Jabari Parker to take the bail out shots and tough shots instead of MCW will help his fg% as well. I also cannot get over his rebounding ability, he's averaging 6 on the year and I don't see that decreasing.
Anyways, what do you guys think MCW will be? Share your opinion in the poll, and explain in a comment below. Thanks!
