What Tank?

Sam Hinkie, you disgrace to the game. How dare you select Joel Embiid, the consensus best prospect in the draft pre-injuries. You could have traded away draft picks like Dario Saric and KJ McDaniels and traded up for Andrew Wiggins. Seriously, what did people expect him to do draft Exum and have one more point guard who can't shoot. We now have years of rebuilding and a shit ton of young players in the pipe line waiting for their shot in the NBA. Hinkie's goal this entire time has been to draft a star, he is doing a hell of a job collecting as many draft picks to make that possible. There has been bad teams before, but probably none ever interesting than our Philadelphia 76ers.

FanSince09 wrote a fantastic article on how you could really throw a negative spin on anything but really what the Sixers are doing is pretty impressive. I get comparing Kentucky to the Sixers, I mean the average age group can't be too off. It's definitely the closest average to a regular college in the league. But then you realize the Sixers are that college team playing NBA teams. Bunch of young guys who really know anything about the NBA or its schemes and how to be a winning team. It's very difficult and I don't expect a lot of wins but we play pretty good some of the time. When we can bring the energy I guess. In the end it's about talent and I think Hinkie has a good eye for that. I'm sure it was in Hinkie's plans to draft Pappy Jack because of his obvious impending to injury due to the 2014 Draft curse.

Also, I think Embiid's injury is blown out of proportion because of Oden. He had a stress fracture in his foot. He noticed it immediately. McHale played an entire playoffs with a stress fracture and recovered from surgery. That was decades ago sport science and especially recovery has come a long way since then. Even recently, big guys who are considered injury prone at least have a couple chances at championships like Yao Ming and Andrew Bynum... I'm sure Embiid will have a very long career based on how delicate Hinkie is treating him.

It's almost 5:00 AM and I'm high and writing about the Sixers because I think they've been too harshly judged. Please stop saying bad things about my favorite sports team who are actually very undermanned due to injury and overseas assignments. Talk to me when LeBron is done dominating the league and all that's left is Hinkie and his horde of draft picks. Go Sixers.
