Mavs-110 Sixers-103 Recap: MCW Triple-Double Not Enough

For the 16th, yes 16th, time in a row, I guaranteed a Sixers victory, and for the 16th time, I was wrong. Giving up offensive rebounds, closing out, and turnovers prove once again to be the Sixers achilles heel. The Dallas Mavericks were missing Dirk Nowitzki and Jameer Nelson, which gave the Sixers a glimmer of hope after the 50-point beatdown they were handed the last time these two teams met. Tyson Chandler's neck beard, however, was like a sixth defender for the Mavericks tonight. Seriously, that thing is disgusting.

Nerlens Noel continued his great play with another very solid game tonight. Noel showed it all tonight, hitting jumpers, hook-shots, and of course his powerful slams. He finished with 10 points and 9 boards. His 1 block does not give him justice as he altered shot after shot, and really controlled the paint when he was in the game.

The Sixers let Tyson Chandler absolutely snatch their souls tonight, as he put in a season-high 20 points along with 7 offensive rebounds. 7 offensive rebounds? That may sound like child's play to KJ McDaniels who pulled down 9 offensive boards himself. McDaniels put himself right into the thick of the Rookie of the Year considerations after back-to-back career nights. KJ had a career high 21 points tonight on 8-17 shooting, including 2 threes. It should be interesting to see how his stats will pan out at the end of the season as his playing time is increasing.

Michael Carter-Williams looked like a point guard tonight. Without Wroten starting beside him tonight due to injury, Carter-Williams put together one of his nicest games as a member of the 76ers. MCW had his third career triple-double, with 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. These are the kind of stats I hope for when I think of a point guard. Of course we can't expect 16 assists every night, but he should be approaching double-digits every game. The Wroten injury seemed to help MCW's game, and it may put Wroten back into the sixth man role going forward.

The Sixers actually dominated on the boards tonight, out rebounding the road team 55-40. This may have been the Sixers' most well-rounded game of the season. They rebounded great, and even closed out many of the Mavs shooters (YIPPEE!!).

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute somehow logged 29 brutal minutes tonight. I hate his guts man. At one point he obtained an offensive rebound off one of his terrible shots, and proceeded to shoot an even worse shot. The sh*ttiest part of it all? It was in the guts of the game! I want him to take a seat next to Embiid for the rest of the season. They can talk about who the heir is to the throne or something. LRMAM is like, royalty, or whatever, right...right? I hate him so much, hence the very mean poll at the end of the article.

I dunno who that man is in the center of LRMAM's chest, but it seems appropriate.

The Sixers did make a push toward the end of the third quarter, as Alexey Shved stole the ball, and slammed for two putting the Sixers right into the thick of things. They rose at the Wells Fargo Center. Oh, they rose. I love you Marc Zumoff. I blame the fourth quarter struggles on LRMAM, as I feel that he kept killing every Sixer run. I do not understand Coach Brown's obsession. Monta Ellis ended up putting the Sixers away towards the end of the game, as the Sixers fall 110-103. We would have had Big Macs dammit. Oh well, discounted pizza it is. Code word: SIXERS. F***.
