The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal with former Temple standout Khalif Wyatt.

According to a league source (and confirmed by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer), the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a multi-year deal with free agent guard Khalif Wyatt.

The 6'4" Wyatt - a native of Norristown, PA - went undrafted this past June, but was later named to the Sixers' summer league team. In five games in the Orlando Pro Summer League, Wyatt averaged 13.8 points, 3.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds on 45.8 percent shooting.

Wyatt is an exceptionally skilled player who found ways to be productive on the collegiate level despite his below-average athleticism. This past season, Wyatt earned both Big 5 and Atlantc 10 Player of the Year honors after averaging 20.5 PPG (41.7 FG%) and 4.0 APG for the Temple Owls.

"He's very crafty, has the ability to score the basketball," said then-Sixers' assistant coach Michael Curry when interviewed about Wyatt by the Philadelphia Inquirer prior to the start of the Orlando Summer League. "But his basketball IQ is super high."

Conditioning was an issue with Wyatt in the past, but after leading Temple to the 3rd round of the NCAA Tournament in March, Wyatt lost 15 pounds in an attempt to show talent evaluators that he was (and is) committed to his craft.

With a lack of proven shooting guards on the roster, Wyatt has a fairly decent chance of making the final 15 once the season begins roughly six weeks from now. At the very least, the 22-year-old guard is talented enough that the Sixers could potentially stash him on the Delaware 87ers for a mid-season call-up, if necessary.
