First off, happy 4th to everyone who roots for the best team. Have my Moses jersey on with my 76ers
hat...can't get much more American than that! So I'm really liking our new approach with Hinkie at the helm. We still need a coach and we still need to fill out the roster a midst all of the excitement with what went down on draft night and similarly looking forward to next yr's draft. Anyway my plan:
Golden State is trying to clear cap for Dwight. Expiring contracts Bogut(14M),Jefferson(11M),and Beidrins(9M). Personally I wouldn't take Bogut cuz he's actually alright and I think most sixers fans want the team to suck REAL BAD next year. But if we took on Jefferson, and Beidrins(20M combined and both can't really play or anymore at least with RJ), that would take us to the cap floor. In addition, we'd most likely receive very nice draft pick compensation which GS said they would be willing to give up for one of those contracts (1st rd pick for just one of those). If we took 20M off their hands, you might be able to get 2 first rd picks given the Warriors
would be pretty nice and since they r desperately trying to sign Dwight! Even if we got only 1 its just more ammo. After that, all you need is a veteran PG, maybe another SG both 1 yr deals on the cheap. Trade ET for whatever, never wanted him.
So yea, that's what I think Hinkie should do. Let me know what you guys think. Also if you didn't do this trade, what 3 or 4 Free Agents would you throw big money at in order for us to get to the cap floor because as nice as it would be, we can't just give a homeless man a check for the difference of our current salary and the salary cap floor and call it a day.
