It would mean taking on the contract (possibly two) of either Andrew Bogut (14M), Richard Jefferson (11M) or Andres Biedrins (9M), but could yield a return of Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes as well. The trade would ideal for the Sixers, not just adding a young stud but adding expiring money to the payroll and helping to fulfill the 90% of cap space that must be used.
The drawbacks, not many. Maybe not any.
You get either Thompson or Barnes along with more money coming off the books for players you won't be playing anyway. Ideally, you'd like to get Jefferson, Biedrins and Thompson/Barnes; getting Bogut might force you to play him as he isn't worth his 14 Million per but is more than good enough to contribute whereas Rich and Andres and just about done.
The likelihood: slim. Because Hinkie might not be looking to add as much talent that either Klay or Harrison would bring to this team right away.
