Sixers not working on Kwame Brown buyout -- yet

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The 76ers could look to buy out the final year of Kwame Brown's contract, reports Tom Moore.

The 76ers could look to buy out the final year of Kwame Brown's contract, reports Tom Moore of PhillyBurbs and Calkins Media.

According to Tom Moore, the team has not yet had any discussions with the Doug Collins mistake veteran center, but that he is a likely buyout target, or he could simply be waived.

Kwame Brown has 1 year and just under $3 million left on his contract after having been given a 2 year deal last summer, a contract which could have been much worse. Brown played in just 22 games last season for the 76ers, not entering a game after February 20th.

The 76ers would be unlikely to recoup much, if any, of the contract, and would likely just be looking to get Kwame Brown out of the locker room. As mentioned by Tom, he wasn't exactly known as one of the hardest workers on the team last year.
