NBA player Royce White discusses being traded to our Philadelphia 76ers, his disorders, phobias and fear of flying, and shares his thoughts on the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case.
I was surprised to hear Royce White asked about Trayvon Martin. I watch a lot of ESPN and follow a great many sports sites and he is the first pro athlete I have seen that has been sought out to chime in. After hearing him discuss the verdict in depth, I can understand why. This is a very well informed young man both politically and legally. He is clearly very intelligent and thoughtful knows how to communicate his thoughts.
And you have to be impressed with his reading list. He is reading Dr.Michael Erik Dyson's latest book - wow.
And when they later Get around to discussing the 76ers and what adjustments the team is willing to make to get White on the court, we get some really substantial information and insight. Compare this Royce White with the guy depicted in this weeks "news reports" and you definitely see how the media has distorted who he is; preferring to sensationalize rather than inform.
I hope Royce White finds a home here in Philadelphia.. This is the kind of guy I want to root for.
