Khalif Wyatt, James Southerland To Join Sixers Summer League Team

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Temple's Khalif Wyatt and Syracuse's James Southerland will be joining the Sixers Summer League team in Orlando.

You can add two more to the roster of players who will be joining the Sixers in Orlando for this year's Summer League.

Local product Khalif Wyatt and Syracuse's James Southerland have agreed to join Philadelphia when Summer League kicks off on July 7th.

Wyatt was a three year starter at Temple University, where he led the school to two A-10 Regular Season Championships in 2010 and 2012. He was also named A-10 player of the year in 2013.

The 22 year-old averaged 20.5 points and shot 41.7% from the floor in his senior year with the Owls. Wyatt carried Temple in a 3rd round matchup in the NCAA Tournament against Indiana, shooting 12-24 and scoring 31 of the Owls 52 points.

In an effort to get into better shape, the 6'4" guard has already dropped 15 pounds.

Our own Derek Bodner broke the news first, reporting that Wyatt will be playing for the Sixers, as well as the Dallas Mavericks during Vegas Summer League. Undrafted free agents are able play in both leagues, as these are invites and not binding contracts.

Sources also tell Liberty Ballers that forward James Southerland of Syracuse University will be joining the team in the Sunshine State.

Southerland averaged 13.3 points in his Senior season, and shot 45% from the floor. Like Wyatt, he will be splitting his time this summer, as the New York native will be partaking in Vegas Summer League with the Golden State Warriors.

Rodney Williams of Minnesota, and Micheal Eric, who played last year in the D-League for the Canton Charge, are two other players that have accepted an invite from the Sixers.
