I really don't get why people think their playoff hopes are so unrealistic. The only three tough games left are Miami, Brooklyn, and Indiana. This is most likely a Miami team without LeBron Or DWade, a beatable Brooklyn team, and the last game of the season against Indiana the Sixers potentially have a win or go home game against a team that will most likely have its seed cemented and their minds already focused on the playoffs.
The Bucs on the other hand, are making mistakes and just playing bad basketball. I only see them having three winnable games left in Charlotte, Orlando, and Toronto. Toronto and Orlando are capable of putting up a fight every night, and with the Bobcats, you just never know.
To everyone who does not want them to make the playoffs just because they will be "destroyed by the Heat," or they want a lottery pick, you never know what will happen. Maybe LeBron comes back from his extended break and simply can't find his in-game rhythm again, maybe a wildfire consumes American Airlines Arena and they are forced to give up their home field advantage. Or maybe LeBron tears his ACL. Nobody knows. The reason last years squad had so much success was because they played in the now. They didn't worry about the future or draft picks. As we have learned with Bynum, nothing in the future is guaranteed. Maybe Jrue is plagued by injuries for the rest of his career and this is our last chance with him.
Right now I am praying that the Sixers get in, Evan keeps being Villainous, and Hawes keeps being Hawes. Yes it may be unrealistic, yes it may be improbable, yes they may get blown out in a 4 game sweep by an average margin of 25 points, but as many teams have witnessed before, all you need is a miracle. I sure as heck would rather see them get swept than wonder what could have happened. Here's to forgetting about the future and enjoying Sixers basketball for as long as we can this season. I know I'll be making the trip to WFC if they're playing Miami and you will probably too. Not because we think they have a chance, but because you never know what could happen. Sixers be crazy.
