The Sixers played as hard as they always do, but they couldn't make up for the talent gap in their 105-94 loss to the Orlando Magic. Nikola Vucevic (should of) put up a dominating 21-16, while Victor Oladipo scored 18 on 11 shots (he did turn the ball over eight times, though.
For the Sixers, Evan Turner had a near triple-double in one of my favorite performances of his this year. Thaddeus Young returned from his absence with 26 points off the bench (on 15 shots!) in just 28 minutes. But with little other offensive help, and an uneven performance (but not a bad one!) from Michael Carter-Williams, the Sixers were left trying to catch up.
Tony Wroten and Spencer Hawes, the Seattle Connection, missed the game due to injury. Jameer Nelson left the game during the second quarter due to an ankle sprain.
The loss drops the Sixers to 6-10, while the Magic move to 6-9. While both teams had few aspirations this year, the Magic's play so far this year actually suggests they have to potential to make the Eastern Conference playoffs. Yeah, I know.
All teams have off for the holiday tomorrow. Your thoughts below.
