There are three numbers that Sixers fan's need to keep an eye on going in to this season 38, 58, 35. They are metrics to see which direction Brett Brown (the Foreman) and Sam Hinkie, (the architect) intend to take this team, and 'if their Frank Lloyd Wright like way of building this team can work.
(38) If the Sixers are truly looking to improve this season, it could be argued that at 4-4 they are definitely at least trying to improve on the 34 wins that they achieved last season, in which they finished 4 wins and one spot out off the playoffs .
(58) If the Rebuilding phase through lottery picks is the big plan here, with 4 losses down 58 losses is within reach. What is not an acceptable form off losing is chucking three’s up in lieu of trying to garner points via higher percentage shots. Play like this is just an implosion waiting to happen. I really love Spencer Hawes’s game; however, a wrecking ball when he not on the floor is desperately needed.
Frank Lloyd Wright called architecture "the mother art," explaining: "Without an architecture of our own, we have no soul of our own civilization." Same here goes for the offensive scheme or a lack all-star for that matter. Without a star this team has no soul. (35) 35 minutes has to be filled by someone who can score, or at least facilitate 20 points a night. It is great to see Evan Turner, and company wreaking havoc at clutch times, however sometimes it feels as if I’m watching a kid trying to knock out a wall with a sledgehammer... It’s a nice start but what is really needed is a bulldozer.
