Louis Williams is gone. And despite his terrible shot selection, minimal defense, and ball-stopping tendencies, he was interesting to have in town. More because of his burgeoning rap talents than his end-of-quarter antics. While I was never his biggest fan, it doesn't feel right to send him off after seven years of service without something special.
So it is that I have conjured up a short rap fitting for THA BOSS himself on his way out the door in Philadelphia.
To the tune of parts of Lou's own "IMMA BOSS":
Lou be driving down the lane now/Oh wait he takin' fadeaways
picking up that and-1/oh now that's a Lou-for-one
you be buyin' scrubs out/free agent cash don't get it/cuz two more years with Hawes/wit no Lou is bullsh*t
Lou came to Philly straight out of high school/no college, don't need no calculator
remember him bench riding?
Wait he's still a 6th man
he'll pick up some McDonald's/maybe treat a friend at gunpoint.
Seven years, all these games he's played in/sixty k a game, mediocre all the same
He made his first million ‘fore he ever got laid!
Willie Green's sister was quite gentle,
she looked at Lou
they look at Lou
Dem bloggers see him be like ‘ew lou will’
Iso time is his time not a poison pill.
YOU'RE A BOSS,
YOU'RE A BOSS,
FOR SOMEONE ELSE,
YEAH YOU'RE A BOSS.
Lou, it's been really real.
