"I talked to him about the importance at this time in his career of not making a financial decision, but making a decision about finding a home where he can be around people that are going to nurture him," Collins said.

"Kwame’s a very sensitive guy. He’s been hurt, stung a lot by all the criticism that he’s taken in his career (after) being the No. 1 pick."

Collins expects Brown to rebound and perform as "one of the top five defensive centers in the NBA," which is what Sixers associate coach Michael Curry called Brown when the two were in Detroit in 2008-09.
