Woke up to some interesting tweets from the Sixers CEO. Looks like the Toronto loss has moved him to respond to the tempest stemming from his comments on Spike Eskin's show – which was the subject of an article, or two, or three around here.
First, the stuff that seemed kind of good.
I assure you we have solid, sober view of our team RT @TomWelke excited about the new ownership n hope 2 see some big moves this offseason.

Watch what we do RT @guitarfer88interview with Eskin suggested you weren't willing to tear it down to build it up, so how can we believe

However, these tweets were preceded by one that scares me. Well, as much as anything tweeted by the guy who tweets about the all-important mascot issue can scare me.
A mere 1 game out of first place. If we fall apart, that's what summer is for RT @Takissou01 your team is becoming a punch line here in Phil

Oh boy. So if we win the division, full steam ahead. But "[i]f we fall apart", we could be in for a course correction. Seems that the margin between banner raising and draft lottery is real slender right now. A truly sober view of the Sixers should not change based upon a swing in outcomes over the next few weeks. I still wonder whether Aron says anything that reflects the basketball side of the Sixers operation. Seems like his job is just to do his best to raise the Sixers profile. But if this is the mindset of the front office, is everyone OK with rooting for losses now?
