Hawes, Sixers cut down Nets to end skid

Here is a portion of the story:

“Spencer was fabulous,” Collins said. “Spencer’s a (darn) good basketball player.”

Hawes shot 7-for-11 in 22 1/2 minutes. He ran the floor the way he had been before missing 27 of 29 games with a strained left Achilles, in addition to grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots.

“It’s kind of new to me,” said Hawes, who had started his first 27 games this season, of being a reserve. “I think I just kind of slowed down a little bit.

“There are two ways to go. You can sit there and sulk or be a man, swallow it and try and make the most of it.”
