J. J. Hickson

Hickson was recently released by the Kings. He's only 23. He's had big games in the past. At one point, he was the reason the Cavaliers wouldn't trade for Amar'e Stoudemire. In his best year, 2011, he was averaging nearly 14 and 9 in 28.2 minutes per game. There is no denying he has talent and the potential to become a good player.

All of that being said, he hasn't done much recently. He's athletic enough to make up for some of his shortcomings, but has never been a great defender. He has that horrible tendency to settle for jump shots when he really should be looking to receive the ball on a drive. He has fallen out of favor with two separate teams now, and has been a disappointment this year so far in Sacramento. He also seems to have himself a bit of an attitude, as he's been out with "back spasms".

Maybe not a "Doug Collins guy". He would, however, be a decent option on a pick-and-roll. Something the Sixers can't really say they have. He can also be a decent rebounder when he tries. Do you think the Sixers should or would make a move to sign him? I say, give it a try. He's a high upside player, and would be a great use of the roster spot freed up by the release of Nocioni (RIP).
