According to Howard Eskin the 76ers want a wing who can shoot at the deadline, & I remember a game or two ago Doug Collins said that he was concerned about the size of his wings on the bench. With those in mind that made me think of a player that I've always liked(maybe because it seems like he always does good against our 76ers) and that is James Jones of the Heat.
76ers Trade:
Mo Speights trade exception
2nd round pick
Heat Trade:
James Jones
Why the 76ers do it:
As I said above it gives them a shooter with size & Jodie Meeks is a free agent after this season and if M33KS!!! decides to move on they would have Jones under contract for two more and he can fill the shooting role on the team. If Meeks doesn't leave it's another shooter for Collins to bring off the bench
Why the Heat do it:
Jones minutes are down this year(only averaging ten a game) because the Heat signed Shane Battier to a multi-year deal & also have Mike Miller, with Jones behind those two they can get rid of his salary & get someone cheaper to play ten a game with the second round pick they would get from the 76ers since he'll be behind Miller & Battier for the next couple years.
Why the trade won't happen:
Battier has only played a full season twice in his career and Miller has only played a full season his rookie year, Jones is a good injury replacement if/when one of those two go down for a certain amount of time
