Injury Update: After playing the last two games, Spencer Hawes will be on the bench again tonight. On the brighter side of things, his MRI results on his back and Achilles tendon were negative. Elton Brand will be making his return after missing the last two games and will start alongside rookie Nikola Vucevic in the front court.
On the Spurs end of injury news, Manu Ginobili and TJ Ford remain on the bench as they have for the past month.
As good as the Spurs have been at home (13-1), they've been almost just as bad on the road this season by only notching 4 wins in 12 away games. Vegas knows this and has set the Sixers as 4-point favorites coming off a close win against Kobe and the Lakers.
Do you guys think Jrue will saddle up and put some Spurs on his Air Forces?

unfortunately this article was actually written by mike levin, who hacked into espn’s system and posted it up. It’ll get taken down soon and replaced with an article about Rubio and the Head-stomper.
"If Iguodala were a legitimate "true" 17 PPG scorer, we’d be a better team. When at least 8 of those points come off the fast break, his true offensive production is a reality: 8-11 PPG." - LeQuan Glover
i enjoy the fact that they credit spence with stealing minutes from brand even though he missed 10+ games already. shows that not only are they watching the games, but paying attention to key stats like games played as well hahaa

No worries about getting outrebounded by 25 tonight
Spurs are ranked 20th in rebounding. They really miss this guy – kind of a more polished version of Lavoy Allen.

I am surprised that Vegas makes the Sixers home-court favorites, since the Spurs have won 6 straight including a win against the league leading OK Thunder.
The one thing about this season that is different is that the games are so close together. There is less time for the athletes to recover, and fatigue brings injury. The Sixers are built for such a schedule, with their depth they can rest their players and keep them to no more than 30 min. most nights.
Their depth also helps them to win games, the other team’s 2nd team isn’t used to playing against players with the talent of Williams, Young, and Turner. No matter what the other team’s starters do, they still have to stop our night shift.
I respect the Spurs but I would take the Sixers -4.
beat the Spurs!

Tony Parker
Is having a great season, and has been just as scary on the court as alone in a hotel with your wife, but with Duncan’s advanced age and Blair’s height issues hopefully the Sixers don’t get manhandled inside and can contain Parker.

I have parker on my fantasy team. Should I play him tonight or will Jrue give him a stomping?
"If Iguodala were a legitimate "true" 17 PPG scorer, we’d be a better team. When at least 8 of those points come off the fast break, his true offensive production is a reality: 8-11 PPG." - LeQuan Glover
Jrue is due for a good game, I hope. Hard to give any individual Sixer an edge since they share the ball so much.
yeah but you don’t share the ball on defense. You know, since I was talking about if Jrue would stomp him…like on defense.
Do you ever consider defense, or do you just think about scoring 25 points per quarter?
"If Iguodala were a legitimate "true" 17 PPG scorer, we’d be a better team. When at least 8 of those points come off the fast break, his true offensive production is a reality: 8-11 PPG." - LeQuan Glover
sixers once again get no love in future power rankings on espn. They’re ranked #16, five spots behind the celtics..

yeah well it’s the sixers..they’re reasons were: no cap space, philly is not a destination for free agents, and we’ll keep getting middling draft picks.
Pretty stupid.

One of my biggest annoyances are people who think less calories means it’s good for you. It’s the nutritional equivalent of thinking 30 points on 30 shots is good.
or if it says “no fat” therefore it’s healthy
or if eating a salad automatically equals healthy despite the pound of ranch dressing smothered on top.

Talked about defending the pick n roll. Basically need to play up the defender at the 3 point line and have good weakside help playing up as to not let the guy just fly by.

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

Spurs strategy tonight
Find out what side iggy is on. Play a pick and roll to the other side
So the 6ers can’t allow any more points it seems. interesting

to be fair, I bet a lot of players would be lethal if they were allowed three strides

I seriously hate when players just go off on us.
And this is one of those games. Parker is shooting hot.

Terrible defense.

I’m worried this game will be a blueprint for how to beat the sixers. Setting double picks. Of course most teams don’t have Parker and Duncan/Splitter.

Eh, I mean there’s been no production from Vooch or New School Chevy. They were pretty worthless tonight

Poor showing defensively by everyone not Iguodala and Brand.

Specifically, the Sixers are great in pick-and-roll situations. They’re first in the league in points per play allowed against pick-and-roll ball-handlers and are holding teams to 34.2 percent shooting in those situations, also tops in the NBA.
Where was this tonight?

Im afraid this kind of defense is gonna garner an even worse loss against the Clippers. Have got to tidy up that pick an roll
bleep the refs, good night guys

They really just did not shoot well tonight. Like I said multiple times in the thread, shots were just not falling… even when they’d get a good look or take it to the hoop.
