Chamberlain increased his scoring pace, breaking his own NBA record by getting to 79 points with 7:51 left.

PA announcer Dave Zinkoff riled up the crowd of 4,124 by giving out Chamberlain's total with each basket and/or free throw. For example, "That's 78 for Wilt with a Dipper Dunk."

"When he hit 98 points, they were like caged lions — ready to leap," Harvey Pollack said.
